What he teaches
Building Life Planner involves product decisions, development and the work of keeping a product useful over time. At Reduzer, Samuel connects that experience to two habits students practise in their own projects.
Understand the people using the software
Students consider what people need and the conditions in which they will use a product. They learn to ask whether a feature solves the user’s problem and how they can check that it does.
Make the code easier to maintain
Samuel emphasises clear structure and fundamentals such as data structures and APIs. Students learn to consider how another developer will read, change and build on their work.
His earlier work includes developing PEERNaija and contributing to mUzima, where he also mentored through Outreachy.
