About Reduzer School
Reduzer School teaches software development through building products. Study full-time for one year, online or in Nyamarambe, Kisii.
Why we started the school
Reduzer Technologies Limited builds product teams for international clients. That work taught us how much dependable software asks of a developer: understanding an unclear brief, checking their work and speaking up when a decision or problem needs attention.
We built the school to give students time to develop those habits alongside their technical ability. Preparing people well also helps our business grow. Before we recommend a graduate to a team, we need to trust them with work other people depend on.
A year to practise and improve
A student builds something, gets it reviewed and improves it. Then they take on a harder problem. Over a full year, instructors can follow that progress and gradually ask students to handle more of the work themselves.
Students learn to break problems down, investigate bugs, test their work and explain their decisions. They return to a small set of projects as their skills grow. The final project gives them time to release a product, observe its use and make an improvement.
Explore what students learn and buildWhat students can expect
Students can join without previous coding experience. They make time for classes and practice, share their work and act on feedback. Our responsibility is to give them clear teaching, useful reviews and support throughout the year.
- Teaching and time to practise
- Instructors introduce each topic, work through examples and guide students as they apply it. Both online and onsite students follow scheduled teaching and practical work.
- Individual support each week
- Each student has a weekly individual check-in, alongside help during practical sessions. When something needs more attention, the instructor agrees on practice and a time to review progress.
- Feedback students can use
- Reviews explain what needs to change, why it matters and how to check the improvement. Students have time to revise their work and demonstrate what they have learned.
- Clear assessment
- Students demonstrate their own understanding through practical tasks, explanations and changes to their work. Assessment requirements are shared in advance.
Completing the programme
Graduation requires individual evidence of the eight capabilities in the curriculum. Graduates receive a capability record and work samples they have permission to share. Career preparation includes CVs, portfolio case studies and interview practice for junior software-development roles.
The current software development programme is non-accredited skills training. It does not award a diploma or any TVET qualification.
Employment at Reduzer or elsewhere is not guaranteed. Our responsibility is to help students leave better prepared to contribute, wherever they go next.
