These are project specifications used to train Reduzer students. Each project defines the required system, technical constraints, delivery plan and review process.

Log Ingestion Engine
Build the centralised system the team needed: one ingestion API that validates and enriches logs, routes them by service, writes them reliably, and surfaces live operational signals before customers notice the next outage.
Rate Limiter Middleware
Build reusable rate-limiting middleware that caps requests per caller, rejects excess traffic with the correct HTTP status and headers, supports two algorithms, and remains correct when several service instances process concurrent requests through shared Redis state.
Merchandise Management System
Build the software backbone that digitally mirrors the physical flow of goods and money through a retail business: from suppliers and purchasing to warehouse operations, checkout and accounting.
How to participate
No application is required. Create a public repository, document your plan, implement the specification, publish the required evidence and follow the brief’s review process. Tag @reduzer_tech when you post the submission.

Learn to build, test and deploy applications in our one-year, full-time programme online or in Kisii. Beginners are welcome. Tuition is KSh 10,000 per month for 12 months.
Starts 5 October 2026. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.
